30,000 Voices wins prestigious Research Impact Award
Breast Cancer Foundation National Register is proud to celebrate the multidisciplinary team's win of the Research Impact Award at the University of Auckland Research Excellence Awards for the groundbreaking report, 30,000 Voices: Informing a Better Future for Breast Cancer in Aotearoa New Zealand.
This collaborative effort—led by Dr Annette Lasham from the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, alongside Dr Nicholas Knowlton, Adele Gautier, and Sue Kleinsman from Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, and clinical experts Dr Reena Ramsaroop and Dr Vernon Harvey—involved extensive data collection, analysis, writing, and consultations with clinicians and equity groups.
As New Zealand's first "state of the nation" report on breast cancer, it has profoundly shaped health policy, directly informing 10 of the 27 new draft breast cancer quality performance indicators from Te Aho o Te Kahu – Cancer Control Agency. This recognition highlights the vital role of the National Register and Breast Cancer Foundation NZ research team in driving real-world change.
